Brendan is one of Pokémon Trainer Red's travel partners. He was Peridot (Human)'s replacement in the Hoenn Saga.
In Pokémon[]
Brendan is the male protagonist in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. If selected, he will do feats similar to what Pokémon Trainer Red and Pokémon Trainer Gold have done. This means collecting all 8 Hoenn badges, defeating Team Magma in Ruby and Omega Ruby, Team Aqua in Sapphire and Alpha Sapphire, or both Aqua and Magma in Emerald, defeating champion Steven Stone (or Wallace in Emerald), completing the Pokédex and becoming the Pokémon Master. However, this time, Brendan has the option to enter Pokémon Contests, which is what his manga counterpart Ruby had done, and to challenge the Battle Tower(Ruby and Sapphire)/Frontier(Emerald)/Resort(Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire), which is what he does in the Anime. If you pick May, however, he acts as an aide for his father. Despite thinking that May would be a guy when you first meet him, he becomes friends with May along the way. Later, he quits Pokémon Battling, but in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, you can fight him once more where you first fought him on Route 102. He is quirky, mischievous, and can be Tsundere at times. He also seems to like cross-dressing, as some fanart would suggest.
